Congratulations to Dr Christine Chen on getting the National Volunteerism and Philanthropy Awards 2010 - Volunteer of the Year Award
 

The National Volunteerism and Philanthrophy Awards 2010 was held on 3 December 2010. Dr Christine Chen, Founder and President of AECES, received the Volunteer of the Year Award from Singapore's President SR Nathan at the Istana, the official home of the President. This year, there were a total of six recipients who were honoured at the Nationaly Volunteerism and Philanthropy Awards 2010.

In an article found in Yahoo, Singapore - Fit to Post Newsroom, Dr Chen stated that she was "honoured to receive the award on behalf of all early childhood teachers, who do important work but for years, received little recognition” and “being a volunteer has given purpose to my life.”

Dr Chen continued to state in the interview with Channel News Asia that "volunteering has to come from the heart."

"What are you truly passionate about? If it's about animals, senior citizens or end of life care...whatever it is, look into what is really meaningful to you and then just go and do it and volunteer in that area."

 

Once again, congratulations to Dr Christine Chen and thank you for being committed in being the agent for change in the life of children and families, and the Early Childhood Education!
