Supporting Children Upon Being Included (SCUBI) (English)

The SCUBI certificate aims to promote inclusive practices in childcare centres and kindergartens. As a continuing professional development programme, SCUBI equips early childhood educators in general education settings with strategies and approaches to support children with special needs who will benefit from inclusion. 

 

         5th Intake Starting in JULY 2008

         78 classroom and 30 practicum hours

Keyboard Class @ Hougang 

Synopsis

Would you like to play an instrument for the children during music session? Have you always wanted to create music for enjoyment and relaxation. AECES would be conducting a keyboard session for interested participants to be equipped with the skill to make music part of yours and the children’s lives.

Pre-requisite

No musical background needed

Course Content

Elementary Level
bullet

Rhythm – basic note values & rests, simple rhythmic patterns 

bullet

Time-signature – 4/4, 3/4

bullet

Notation – treble & bass clefs’ notes within an octave.

bullet

Keys -  C, G, F major

bullet

Chords -  I & V

bullet

Music appreciation – listen to music from different periods and genres

Intermediate Level

 

bullet

Time-signature – 4/4, 3/4

bullet

Keys – C, G & F major, A & E minor.

bullet

Rhythm – note values & rests, create simple rhythmic patterns

bullet

Notation – treble & bass clefs within 11/2 octaves

bullet

Chords – I, IV, V.

bullet

General Musicianship – Listen and feel the beats in a musical piece.   

bullet

Learn to sing in pitch.

Advanced Level
bullet

Time-signature – 4/4, 3/4, 2/4

bullet

Keys – C, G, F, D major, A, E, D minor.

bullet

Notation – bass & treble clefs within 2 octaves

bullet

Rhythm - different note values & rests, create different rhythmic patterns.

Simple harmonization – I, IV, V

Simple analysis– 2, 3-part form.
